Adding costs

A cost in a few seconds

Type what it was and how much. Today's date, you as the payer and an equal split are filled in, so most costs need two fields.
Everyone adds their own

Whoever pays adds the cost from their own phone, and the balances update for the whole group.
Receipt photos

Attach a photo of the receipt. Tap it to open it full screen and zoom in on the small print.
Fix mistakes later

Change the amount, the payer or the split, or delete a cost. Everyone sees the corrected numbers.
One activity feed

Every cost and payment in the group, newest first, so anyone can check where a number came from.

Four ways to split

Equally, by exact amounts, by percentages or by shares. Shares suit the dinner where one person had the wine.
Leave people out

Untick anyone who wasn't there, and their share goes to the people who were.
Exact to the cent

Every split adds up to the total, with no stray 0.01 left over.
Your currency

Each group has its own currency, and its totals stay in it. Nothing is converted behind your back.

The fewest transfers

split-cash nets everyone's balance and suggests the fewest transfers that clear it. Nine small debts can become three.
Mark as paid

When someone pays, mark the transfer as paid and the balances update for everyone, so nobody has to ask twice.
Part payments

Paying back only some of it for now? Record the amount actually sent.
Totals on one screen

The home screen shows what you owe and what you're owed across all your groups, per currency.

One invite link

Send one link to the group chat. Make a new link at any time and the old one stops working.
Add people before they join

Put a friend in the group by name. When they sign up through the link, everything recorded under that name becomes theirs.
A tab with one friend

Keep a running balance with one person, without making a group.
Change the group

Rename it, remove someone who left, or delete it when the trip is long over. Past costs keep their names.

Nothing to install

split-cash works in the browser on any phone or computer. Add it to the home screen and it opens like an app.
Private groups

Only the people in a group can see it. Nobody else can find or open it.
Your own account

An email and a password. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash, and signing out ends the session on that device.
No ads, no trackers

No ads, no third-party trackers and no paid plan. Fonts and scripts are served from split-cash itself.
Says when you're offline

If the connection drops, split-cash tells you, and what you typed stays on the screen until you can save it.
