Terms of Use

By creating an account or using split-cash, you agree to these terms.

The service

split-cash helps groups of people record shared expenses and work out who owes whom. It is free. It does not hold, send or receive money; payments between people happen outside the app.

Your account

You need an account to use split-cash. Give a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at hello@split-cash.org if you think someone else has used your account.

What you enter

You are responsible for what you add, and for checking that amounts are right before you rely on them. Everyone in a group can add, change and delete its expenses and payments, so only share invite links with people you trust.

Do not use split-cash for anything unlawful, to harass others, or to try to get into accounts or data that are not yours. We may suspend accounts that do.

No warranty

split-cash is provided as it is, without any warranty. We work to keep it running and accurate but cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.

Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from using split-cash, including disagreements about who owes what. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and ending

We may change these terms or the service, and will update this page when we do. You can stop using split-cash at any time and ask us to delete your account. If we ever shut the service down, we will give notice and a way to export your data first.
